He will extend his contract until 2027 with an increased income after graduating from the Barcelona academy.
Young left-back Alejandro Balde has been one of FC Barcelona's biggest surprises this season (2022–23). The young phenom, who is only 19 years old, has already established himself as a regular in Xavi Hernandez's starting Eleven, ahead of seasoned pros like Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso.
It's hard to overstate how much Balde has grown in stature over the past eight months. The left-back has made 33 appearances across all leagues so far this season, recording six assists, the most recent of which came in the Clasico victory over Real Madrid.
In light of interest from numerous Premier League clubs, Barcelona has been working hard to ensure Balde's long-term future. His current deal with the club is set to expire in just over a year.
Also, according to SPORT, Balde and Barcelona have already reached an agreement on a new deal that will keep him with the team through the summer of 2027.
Due to his increased importance inside the first-team system, the Spanish international will see a big increase in his pay. The youngster's new contract will also include a significant €1 billion release clause.
The only thing left to do in order to complete Balde's contract is to register him as a first-team player, which will be done as soon as Barça's Financial Fair Play difficulties are resolved.
Earlier this month in Porto, Jorge Mendes, the agent for Balde, met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and director Mateu Alemany. The youngster's new contract was one of many subjects and players that were covered at the discussion.
As of right now, everything appears to be in order with regard to his new contract, and barring any last-minute, unanticipated complications, Balde will be extending his contract with Barcelona through 2027 at a higher wage.
