Frenkie De Jong A versatile player

 Frenkie has described himself as a player "who likes to have the ball a lot, and play possession." A versatile player, De Jong can function as a regista, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, holding midfielder, box-to-box midfielder and centre back. He has been lauded for his combination of defensive stability and playmaking ability. He often partnered Matthijs de Ligt at centre-back, at Ajax. As a centre back, he abstained from committing fouls, showed great positional sense, and won possession frequently. In this more defensive role, his performances led to comparison with former German sweeper Franz Beckenbauer and likened his tendency to progress forward in possession, and ability to play-make, from defense to the German legend.

Frankie can play as a DM if proper nurturing is done. Yaya Toure was replaced buy Busquets in a barca midfield because of his "intelligence" of the ball. Frankie not playing as Busquets doesn't mean he can't be a DM. Yaya was a way better DM than Busquets ever was but Guardiola had his preference.

In the previous post made by V3nom he did make mention of a double pivot, something that would benefit De Jong. And he also stated clearly and i put emphasis on the fact that Barça has not and would never be a double pivot team. For some part of the season Xavi opted for it and it worked fine...something that can be likened to NOW GUARDIOLA'S CITY where Bernado Silva plays on the wing or even Foden. 

But the question is, where is the quality of play or players for that? Blaming De Jong for yesterday's TEAM FLOP doesn't mean he can't be a DM. Especially for a guy who started his career as a defender. Gavi can be a perfect player to drift into the DM position when De Jong moves forward because of his aggression but where was he yesterday? Is there any better attacking threat Gavi can make that De Jong can't?

Xavi knows De Jong's qualities yet played him as a DM and the FB experts think otherwise. Lol...
