Joao Felix arrives in Barcelona ahead of loan move, Cancelo to land soon
RAC1 has confirmed that Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has just landed in Barcelona as he edges closer to finalising his move. Furthermore, Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo is expected to arrive in the next hour as well.
Journalist Gerard Romero has also confirmed that the Atletico Madrid forward is already taking pictures with the Barça shirt inside the airport.
Furthermore, his and Cancelo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has also arrived at the El Prat airport, with a move to Barça now all but sealed.
Barcelona have taken extreme measures to accommodate the signings of Felix and Cancelo and it appears that they are now reaping rewards.
While details of Felix’s loan move are yet to be made public, we have reported before that Atletico Madrid earlier demanded an €8 million loan fee while asking the Catalan team to cover his entire salary.
After days of hustle and making space in the roster, Barcelona finally reached an agreement with the team from the Spanish capital.

Why was the move delayed?
It is no secret that Barcelona have been arranging funds since forever as they continue to comply with the Financial Fair Play complications.
The Blaugrana were supposed to receive payment from the Libero Football Fund but due to the delays, the Barcelona board, led by president Joan Laporta, was able to provide personal guarantees worth around €20 million to La Liga.
Following that, optimism grew within the Barcelona camp that not only Felix but even Cancelo could now be accommodated in the roster.
What measures did Barcelona take?
Apart from the reliance on guarantees, Barcelona had to make some difficult decisions, which included the temporary departure of Ansu Fati to the Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
Apart from that, defender Eric Garcia is on the cusp of moving to Girona on a season-long loan while Clement Lenglet is already an Aston Villa player (on loan).
On top of that, the team from Catalonia is also contemplating the permanent exit of Ez Abde to Real Betis. As reported before, the two teams have already reached an agreement.
As for Cancelo, there are no more twists left in the deal. After weeks of hustle, Barcelona have finally arranged enough funds to accommodate his stay in Catalonia.
