Official: Barcelona register defensive duo with first team ahead of Osasuna clash
As the deadline day brought in the joy of two new signings in the form of Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo, Barcelona also managed to get the registration of some players across the line as well.
Inaki Pena was the first to be registered by the Blaugrana with La Liga while both the loan signings were also enrolled in the official squad list.
・Barcelona ahead of loan move, Cancelo to land soon
Before the end of the day on Friday, the Catalan giants also completed the registrations of two more players in the form of Inigo Martinez and Alejandro Balde.
New signing Martinez was the only first-team player who had been left without registration after Pena’s matter was sorted.
But the 32-year-old veteran was finally registered, which would mean that he will be available for tomorrow’s clash against Osasuna.
Meanwhile, Balde had been registered for the first three games, but on his subsidiary contract, which meant that he did not have a first-team squad number and continued with the #28 kit he wore last season.
But now, the 19-year-old’s registration as a first-team member has been completed, which should enable him to take the No. 3 kit which he is expected to wear going forward.
・Joao Cancelo and Felix to be Registered
Meanwhile, it is expected that Martinez could be the new owner of the No. 5 shirt vacated by the departure of Sergio Busquets.
Barcelona face Osasuna at El Sadar on Sunday and with Martinez and Pena registered, along with the two Joaos, Xavi is set to have the full squad at his disposal, barring the injured players.
