Next year, Barcelona will loan a young player to a team in the top flight.

The young Pablo Torre has struggled to get enough playing time in Barcelona's crowded midfield during his first season with the team.

After a spectacular season in the RFEF Primera Division with Racing Santander, the teenager was recruited by Xavi to join the first team. Yet, given that he is up against players of the caliber of Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, and Franck Kessie, minutes have been few.

Things could become much more challenging for Torre, who hasn't shown much interest in playing for Barça Athletic this season, with intentions to sign Ilkay Gundogan next summer.

And as a result, according to Javi Miguel of AS, Barcelona intends to loan Torre to a first division team for the upcoming campaign.

In just seven appearances this season for Barça in all competitions, the 19-year-old has contributed to one goal each through scoring and assisting. In addition, he made two appearances for the reserve squad under Rafa Marquez and contributed one assist.

Given that the Spaniard has to be playing frequently at this point in his career in order to continue developing and progressing, the scenario is far from ideal.

In order to ensure that the young player's growth does not stagnate and that he may gain from the exposure and experience of playing top-tier football on a more frequent basis, Barcelona will loan him out to a La Liga team.

During the January transfer window, Torre was interested in being loaned to a number of La Liga teams. The youngster will probably have little trouble finding suitors come summer.

Given the state of affairs at the moment, a loan stay abroad may be the best option for all parties. It should be highlighted that the story makes it abundantly apparent that Barcelona has no current plans to sell Torre.
